Program

Oleksandra Makarova is a Ukrainian carillonneur, pianist, and percussionist. She was born in Mukachevo, Ukraine. She began studying carillon in 2018 at the Royal Carillon School in Mechelen, where she continues to refine her skills under the guidance of Elena Sadina.

She also obtained a bachelor’s degree from the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine and later continued her education at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp as pianist and marimbist.

 

Concert Activities

Oleksandra Makarova actively performs carillon concerts across Europe. She has played in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, and Switzerland, in cities such as Grimbergen, Antwerp, Mechelen, Enghien, Liege, Tienen, Venlo, Nieuwegein, Léon, Rhones, Chatenay, Geneva, and Lausanne.

In 2022, she won 1st place at the carillon competition in Doornik.

In 2024, she became a finalist at the Queen Fabiola Carillon Competition (Mechelen, Belgium), where she placed 5th and received the Audience Award.

She continues her concert activities and studies, expanding her repertoire and performing solo programs.

 

In her programm, she will play music of: A. Dvořák, M. Legrand, G. D’hollander, Ivan Levytsky/arr. Oleksandra Makarova, Oleksandra Makarova
